Fieldtrip to Stone Brewery

It was an awesome trip.  We saw how they create the beer, and picked up some 1L growlers full of beer & Dave picked up a 5 gallon keg of IPA.... Everyone is on their way over to have some beer.

Exercise

Paul, Dave, & I went on a run by the railroad tracks.  It's really frustrating that my legs can do the run no problem.  The issue is my lungs.  Hacking shit up, not able to keep my breath after a while... Needless to say that increases your heart rate even more.  I eventually had to stop and walk for a while; after more than 2 miles.  After the run, I watched TV, reheated some leftover spaghetti, and had a few pints of Guinness.

I'm getting a pimple on my nose.  This is my second pimple in two weeks.  Fucking crazy.  Maybe I'm going through puberty again.

If anyone recognizes that quote and where it comes from, that's my observation of media coverage of the problems in Iraq ever since the Isreali conflict began.  All news outlets seem to have pretty much forgotten about one problem and now are focusing on something different.

The way The Daily Show is covering it all I find to be pretty entertaining.  The middle east is now being referred to by Jon Stewart as: Israfghyianonanaq.  What countries are listed in that name?  I paused the Mythtv computer to sit and figure them all out when that was aired for the first time.

Octopus 4 Ink...

My sister wanted me to design an octopus for her to get tattooed.  I thought it would be cool to get it on her arm where it looks like it is wrapping its tentacles around...... But she changed her mind.  I then came up with this basic design.... But it was more in the red hues.  I spent a few hours today finishing this new one in blue to violet hues.

The Girls Next Door

Well, I just got home and Dave recorded it.  Granted these women are Playboy bunnies, but if this really is "The Girl Next Door", I'm fucking screwed.  They are dumb as bricks, extremely fake, and I'm tempted to say mentally retarded.

In other news, the fucking temp is insane.  Today it's supposed to hit 107+ and it's humid.  Got to love it.  Other than that, I've been thinking up a new art project.... You'll all find out soon enough.  Oh, the tattoo is done healing, but I won't be getting it touched up for a while.... I'd like to spend some time in the pool and I'm really glad I didn't go to the river with everyone this weekend.

I'm playing with it.  I'm importing all of the items that I have here at the apartment and I think this weekend I'll finish it up at my mom's using the rest of my books & DVD collection.

Nike + iPod = Keeping Track of Shit

Now that I am exercising again, and working hard at it, I'm thinking about picking up a pair of Nike + shoes, an iPod nano, & the receiver for the shoes.  If I do this I will start posting my weekly exercise progress on here since it'll be easier to maintain.

On that note, I went to bed early last night.  I woke up early, went on a run and that's how I started the day.  I did that run in reverse about 30 minutes ago.  According to Dave's scale I'm at 230 lbs as of right now... I know that I should have expected this to happen after completely stopping the whole smoking thing (although I didn't do it often anyway) but it's giving me the motivation to push towards losing about 30 to 40 pounds.

Random Beer Recipe Generator

I came up with an idea for using a computer with all of the ingredients to randomize the materials used to produce a beer and then we can try it out to see how it turns out.  Maybe we will come up with a "Happy Accident" through randomization.

Just Getting to Sleep.

Mandy was a little late (about 2 hours) on getting ready for tonight and was too apologetic about it.  Stuff happens & I know that. We went to Islands; (a burger joint I hadn't ever been to) and then later had a few brews at Worthingtons.  After that, we went to her uncle's house where she was house sitting for the weekend and continued our conversation from the bar.  Seriously we had such a good time that I lost track of what the actual time was..... I just got home a little while ago.
