I'm Back On...
Ok all, there is a lot for me to blog about (being gone for so long and all). I realize my last "real" Blog was on August 27th. Let's see, first there was the cruise with Shaunie, her friend Tennile, and Joanne (Shaunie's mom). My goal was to have fun on the cruise and believe me I did. We had a wild yet safe time on the ship. During that time, I got fried in the sun, kept the party going until late, got to see Ensenada, and really got to know Shaunie really well. After that there was the trip to Catalina.
We took a trip to Catalina and met up with Wendell, Beth (the person I replaced on the cruise), Dave (Joanne's friend) and Joanne. While there, I finally got a chance to see avalon. I have to say that it was a remarkable experience. I really enjoyed the opportunity. We ate, went to a wild karaoke bar, and slept on the boat. We took a cruise around the entire island. That was a wonderful experience while all the way listening to Jack Johnson. Finally it was time to head back to Dana Point and back to reality.
After that trip, Shaunie & I went with Dave, Joanne and the gang to Lake Mead for a weekend. It was yet another fun weekend in the sun. For the drive home the challenge was to stay awake. Shaunie took the first part of the trip and I took over when we were stuck in stop and go in the Cajon Pass. We made it home safely.
In addition to this, I found out the lease for the apartment was up for renewal by Oct 31. I didn't want to stay there because of traffic, price going up, and for the utility bills, and other more personal necessities. For the time being, I'm renting a room at my friend & coworker Shelley's house. This will work for a while but by no means is permanent (which is why I'm not moving all of my stuff in; just the basic necessities (mattress, tv, laptop, clothes). It's going to be interesting being so close to work.
Well, that sums it all up except for today.
I was nominated by the school for Teacher of the Year 2007. Unlike the one I won in 2005 (which was a vote done by the students), this is a district wide thing and you are nominated by your peers.
Things at work continue to go excellent. I need to make up a quiz for tomorrow on Texture. After that, I'm putting sheets on my bed, figuring out how to work the TV thing and going to bed.
