First Day With Kids

Ok, so today was the first day with the kids; FLEX Day. The periods were way too short. The kids seem nice (the new ones). The others are the same as always.

Kicked off the New School Year

Well, today I started the new school year officially.  It was a bitter sweet return.  I don't feel ready to be back since I didn't really have a break.  At the same time it's nice to start getting back into a routine.  I went on a run today around 7.  I'm going to take my running shoes with me and see if I can get in a few laps on the track after I'm done setting up my room and making the copies that I need.  I think it's going to be good to run on a track.

One thing is a bit frustrating about this new year.  I have combo classes..... A 6/7 and a 7/8.  I'm not concerned about the 7/8, but the 6/7 has me a bit worried.  Normally we don't mix the sixth and seventh grade students. 

My Last Few Hours of Freedom

Well, summer is officially over.  I go back to work tomorrow.  Let's do a recap: June - I was at Palm every work day.  July - focused on making beer & met a really cool woman that I went out with a few times.  August - Saw Sublime Remembered & Sweet Size while on a date with that aforementioned woman.  Oh, and through July I helped get a book published.  Now it's time for the real work.
