Knight

If I was a knight in shining armor
My shield would be made of carbon fiber;
Not steel or rusty iron.

Subbing

Subbed for Jason today.  It was laid back but it is depressing how many 8th grade students don't know where states are.  It almost makes me sick.

I haven't heard from Holly in ages, but she IM'd me when I accidentally left it up the other night.  Since she did that, I gave her a call and we caught up.  It was good to hear from her.  I told her she needs to escape the house at some point.  Hopefully she will so we can hang out; her, Liz, and I.  I think it would be a fun time; kind of like when we took our trip to Idylwild!

Subbing for Shinley tomorrow.  After that, no more subbing until the 6th.  The other part of my "master plan" is to get an apprenticeship at a tattoo shop.  Will it happen?  Who knows.  I need to talk to a few people...

Breaking Codes

Ok, broke some codes for the Hanso Foundation website (for "LOST")..... Some interesting stuff.  For those of you who watch the show, if you want some help getting some of these Easter Eggs, let me know & I'll help you out.

Ring of Fire

The kids have pretty much shut down.  I can't say I blame them.  2 months of testing schedule, a minimum day this Friday, another Flex day on Wednesday, and promotion on the 25th.  It's so weird.  It just makes me wonder where the year has gone.  I was talking to my friend Anthony (6th grade Math & Science teacher) and it turns out he's a big "LOST" fan too.
My cousin Jamie called today to thank me for telling her to wait to buy her laptop.  She bought the new Apple Macbook.  Damn sexy little computer.  That is on my "to buy" list once I pay off some bills.  With any luck I'll be in a position to purchase one in early 2007.  I don't see it happening any earlier.
Today when I was walking to the machine to put money on my laundry card, I saw a little 7 or 8 year old boy singing Ring of Fire.  That was too funny.

Conspiracy?

Dave just called to say that he talked to Tawnee yesterday.  Apparently she thinks that there was a "conspiracy" against her by my friends.  Conspiracy huh? Dave thought that I should give her a call and straighten her out.  I am not going to do that; I don't even have her number anymore.  She is a liar and now paranoid.  My friends wouldn't ever conspire about anything.  I think that she just finally realized that my friends tolerated her, but they weren't her friend.

I talked to Carrie today.  The baby keeps kicking her insides.  I think it's funny.  I know she's going to be a great (even if a little over protective) mother.  Decisions decisions.... Tonight I have a slew of options for my evening recreation.  I could play poker with some other teachers and administrators from our district, hang out with friends for the Cinco de Mayo party on the 6th, spend time @ the Sutton's residence, or just be a shut in.  Looks like I'm going to narrow it down to two options and flip a coin.

BTW: The packaging for the new Tool album is awesome.  I was just going to buy the tracks online until I saw the stereoscopic gimmick with the packaging.

Too Proud

My kids on friday were making posters for the yearbook sales going on.  Seriously it was something very surreal.  Watching them apply what the had learned in Art the year before and making the most awesome posters...... Seriously, the posters my kids pumped out in a single class period versus what the ASB puts out weekly rocked.  I couldn't be more proud.  Today (well a few minutes ago) was Chad's bday.  He's going through some of the same crap that I am.  It's funny how things change as you get older.

Life is one wild ride and I'm the one who will trip and fall in line!

Staying at Palm

Well, tomorrow I have my interview at Canyon Springs, but Nancy (my principal) let out of the bag the fact that there will be no open art position there so I will be staying at Palm next year.  That's fine.  I'm happy where I'm at for the most part; I'm just not happy with a few things.  In addition, I will be having an art exhibition with Valley View High in the mall at the end of the month.  I need to get some information about what all I need to do for putting up artwork.

So kids, be happy.  You will have me next year.
