Solo On Christmas Eve

Well, this has been a Christmas Eve by myself. I dropped by my mom's and had a couple of tamales, but other than that I've been here solo. It's oddly quiet and unusual but hey that's what happens when you don't have a family of your own. I'm not big on the whole holiday thing to begin with, but I also know that the whole dynamics of the holiday spirit would be different if I had someone to share it with.

Too Many Hours of Poker...

Yesterday I woke up late; 11:30 AM. This is in part to the fact that I didn't realize I was up until 4AM until it was about that time. Afterwards, I met up with Steve at Chilis and had lunch and a few beers. Kyle me us there. After a couple hours we went to Darren's house, hit golf balls into the field and then Kyle and I went to Morongo to play poker. 5 hours later we were still playing. As much fun as that was, I don't think I want to play poker again for quite some time.

Sushi

Tonight I went to an all you can eat sushi place here in Riverside with my coworker Craig, Richard (a counselor at another middle school in town), and Ed (a science teacher at Richard's school). All you can eat sushi and it was pretty good. I haven't been this full on raw fish in I don't remember how long!

The ID card thing went relatively smoothly. Now, I'm working on the t-shirt design for my yearbook crew. If I play my cards right, I'll be able to get them right after Christmas break for the kids. I look forward to seeing their faces when they get their shirts.

Shared Laundry Facilities

Just thought I'd state the obvious. They seriously suck. Some jackass has had everything in use for the past hour and it's all done. Bastard.

The Weekend Wrapup

I had a lot of sleep this weekend. It is exactly what I needed. Tomorrow I'll be creating ID cards at work all day. Mom is subbing for me and I know my kids will be good. I have had a good restful weekend and now I'm ready to get back to work.

It's really amazing that our winter break begins friday after work. I just wonder what I'm going to be doing over that time period.

Today I planned on taking dad out for lunch for his birthday after the Bears game. Dad didn't want to go out so we ordered pizza. That was a good time.

Kym texted me to rub it in that the Steelers won. I still find it funny how whenever I call her she doesn't answer the phone.

Dave left today on his week long vacation. He'll be up in Canada for the week and I have the apartment to myself. I have a strong feeling that the week will be filled with sleep, cleaning, and not much else.

Corporate America

Sometimes I wonder what things would be like if I was in "corporate america". I do know that if I was, I'd have one of THESE sitting on my desk!
